Get to know the ski area together
The Rauriser Hochalmbahnen offer pistes of different difficulty levels. Look at the piste map before your first day and ask your ski school which learning area suits your children’s experience.
For variety, the operator lists the Familyslope near the Hochalmbahn mountain station. Check its opening status and whether it suits your group’s ability and the conditions.

Arrange lessons and lift access first
The official directory lists Adventure Rauris, Skischule Maier and Skischule Hohe Tauern. Ask the school directly about ages, ability groups, teaching language, meeting point and lesson times.
Also ask which lift access the course requires. Arrange ski passes, lessons and hire equipment separately. The lift company’s age and ticket rules can differ from our rental groups.

At Sport Egger, you can book everyone together and choose skis and boot options individually. Use each guest’s age on the collection date:

- Adults: age 17 and over
Prepare for a calmer first morning
Arrange collection ahead of your lesson, leaving enough time for fitting. Find us at Marktstraße 78, 5661 Rauris. Contact us before booking if you need special collection arrangements.
- Before travelling: enter your dates, guests and measurements; check the lesson confirmation and meeting point.
- At collection: bring everyone who needs fitting. Wear ski socks to try on boots, and bring your own ski boots if using them.
- Before leaving: check fit and settings with us and mention any pressure points. Confirm your return date from the booking.
A short packing checklist for your ski day
Lay out clothing and booking details the evening before. That leaves more time for breakfast and getting to your meeting point.
- Ski socks and warm layers
- Weatherproof jacket and trousers, gloves and goggles
- Your own well-fitting helmet or a helmet added to your equipment booking
- Sun protection, water and a small snack
- Booking and lesson confirmations, plus any documents requested by the provider
Leave room for time off the skis
The tourist board highlights winter walks and the Kreuzboden toboggan run as other ways to enjoy the valley. Choose an outing that suits the weather, your group and what is open.
Check current operating information and ticket requirements before setting off. A shorter outing can leave time for a break in the village, too.
